Here is a list of suggestions for a successful event with
Our mission is as follows:
A) Win souls for Jesus Christ
B) Challenge people to find ways to serve the Church and its work
C) Help people to understand that they can have fun worshiping and there are alternative forms of music besides those on MTV that praise God (and can still be enjoyed!)
1) As
communicated in our mission above, one of our primary goals is evangelism. With this in mind, we suggest that a church
interested in securing
2) While we certainly do not want to restrict the Good News to anyone, our prime focus is ministering to young people. We suggest that the church make a commitment to have 50 young people in attendance. In addition, we propose that arrangements be made to allow young people to sit (or stand) as close to the band’s performance area as possible.
3) As the church has committed to invite people who may not be familiar with the physical blueprint of the church, we suggest the following announcements be made during the welcome portion of the event:
A) Locations of all exits
B) Locations of restrooms
C) Warning that fog (to enhance the lighting effects)will be used during the performance
4) We suggest either a love offering be collected during the service for the band or a gift from the church.
5) We ask that the church provide counselors to help when the group gives the invitation. We recommend that the counselors advance near the altar as instructed by a group spokesperson during the performance. We use a card that the counselors will give to anyone who responds to the altar call to complete. Before the invitation song, a group spokesperson will inform the congregation that we use an information card to help give counselors information regarding the reason someone has responded to an altar call. Finally, if counseling is not complete by the end of the invitation song, a group spokesperson will instruct the counselors to escort any necessary responders to a pre-determined area (away from the performance area) to finish counseling. The card is below:

6) We suggest the church provide a minimum of 5 volunteers to help the band with load-in and load-out. These volunteers should be able to lift 50 pounds.
7) We recommend that the performance area have these minimum dimensions: 20 foot wide X 14 foot deep X 15 foot high. Any furniture should be removed prior to the band’s load-in and should be replaced after the load-out.
8) We need two 8-foot tables.
9) If the church has a laptop with PowerPoint and projector system, we will provide lyrics for the worship and praise portion of the performance. However, the church will need to provide someone to operate this system.
10)The church should provide the crew with 2 fire extinguishers. We do not use pyrotechnics; however, we do use lights. In light of recent tragedies, these measures are suggested as a safety precaution.
11)As mentioned earlier, we do use fog to enhance lighting effects. On extremely rare occasions, fog may trigger smoke alarms. A discussion should occur between the band and church regarding locations of smoke alarms.
12)We suggest 24 bottles of cold bottled water for the band and crew. (It’s kinda hard to sing with a dry mouth!)
